T2 Framing:

Development of National Standards is now in progress to establish the criteria that students must meet at each stage of their academic journey. There is debate whether standards represent progress, or whether this gets in the way of equitable, free, K12 public education.  Do National Standards advance Education or hinder it?

Here are some questions on Standards for further consideration.

• Q3 - What are common misconceptions about Standards?  See http://www.corestandards.org/about-the-standards/myths-vs-facts 
• Q4 - Where do standards fit within the context of other educational practices?  Project Based Learning? Passion Based Learning?  College and career readiness?
• Q5 - Do the Common Core Standards reflect 21st Century Skills?   
• Q6 - How are individual students measured in relation to standards? What are the possibilities?  Portfolio assessment?  High stakes testing?  Others?
